Visibility by being intentional
The oxygen for your brand
Let’s talk about something important for brands: visibility. The oxygen for your brand, but it doesn’t come as natural as our breathing. People think this is something you simply ‘get’. I think it is a responsibility that only happens when you actively choose it. And that is not all, you have to be intentional about what you are about, create meaning, to create visibility the compounds.
Choosing visiblity
They is so much to say about how we communicate. How consistent are we in sharing our stories. And how do we treat our audience: are we around and do we genuinely help them with their questions and problems. Do we show up in the important moments. In other words how reliable are we as a brand. I think the question isn’t so much if your brand has a personality but if it is intentional.
The intention of your story
Today, it’s easier than ever to be visible. We have so many outlets where we can share our stories daily. But when you broadcast without intention it doesn’t create meaning, nor connection. It just creates noise. I always compare to something simple like a birthday. You most likely end up talking to someone you connect with. Someone that is interested in a similar passion for example. This will be a pleasant conversation when there is a real exchange, where you both listen and react to each other. The conversation becomes amazing when you take away something meaningful or insightful about life. Business is the same.
Visibilty is about alignment
Being visible isn’t about being everywhere. It’s about being recognizable. This requires alignment between what you say and what you do. You have to deliver what you promise.
When a brand aligns, people feel it. You become what you say and do. This is hard work, to consistently communicate and create a clear message. But from here your visibility will start to grow.
Brands that understand this don’t chase visibility.
They know it has to be earned.
